PALATE DEVELOPMENT AND HOME BREW METHODS with Idle Hands.
Spend an informal day with Idle Hands at Trove, exercising your palate to help discover, recognise and appreciate the amazing flavours in coffee. Whether new to brews or a seasoned pro, this course offers a chance to break down and single out different tastes and aromas you’ll find within coffee - some wanted, some not! We’ll ride the acidity scale, test your sense of smell, and talk mouthfeel and balance.
We will then put our new techniques and vocabulary to the test whilst cupping a range of coffees. Our findings from the cupping will influence how we brew it at home; we’ll look at different methods, what we’re looking for in the cup, and how to achieve it. Then we’ll drink a bunch of coffee, get buzzed and rejoice in the discoveries and comparisons our newly trained palate.
Each person will take an excellent bag of coffee home, with a cheat sheet for home brewing. We’ll also have a range of brewing equipment available to purchase separately, so should a particular method take your fancy we can send you home happy.
Coffee is a fruit and a fresh crop. We embrace it’s diversity.
Tickets £25 - This includes a bag of coffee and a brew methods sheet to take home.
Brewing equipment provided although more can be purchased on the day.
